I’m trying to win an iPad 2 in the iSave, iWrite, iPad competition from PlayPennies.com!

When I was a manager at Domino’s Pizza, I ate fast food every single time I worked. After a while it was just the convenience of it, as well as the 50% staff discount and the little buzz you’d get as you had extremely fatty, sugary food.

But even at half price, it was expensive. I used to pay about £5 every time, getting a medium pizza for myself, or a chicken combo, or a garlic bread and some kickers. When you work five nights a week, that adds up. How much does it add up to? About £1300 per year. I could get a sweet home entertainment kit for that, but instead I was stuffing my face (and feeling terrible afterwards).

I wasn’t alone at this, either. Other managers paid more: some went up to £10 per shift. £2600 per year to get a stomach ache. And I know for a fact that fast-food workers aren’t the only ones that get a bit lazy from time-to-time.

The solution? I know this sounds ridiculous, but; make yourself a packed lunch every night before bed.

That way, you aren’t feeling too tired and lethargic to make proper decisions, and you’ll have your food with you whenever you want it. No more popping to the shop for lunch.

The really smart bit is when you put the money you save every week into a pot (or secondary savings account). After a month you’ll have quite a substantial amount there, and you’ll really appreciate how well you’re doing. Give it a go, even if for just a few weeks, and let me know how you find it!

ps don’t forget to put a little treat in there for yourself. Everyone needs a pick-me-up!

This aired during an episode during of Family Guy in Canada, but was censored in the American broadcase.  This footage is near two years old, but I’ve never even heard ANY mention of it.

Strange.
